An important member of the treatment team, the Patient Navigator is someone who provides support, identifies appropriate resources to meet each patient's individual needs, and is always available to answer questions about resources, wellness services, transportation, and more. As a dedicated contact for patients and caregivers, the Patient Navigator:
Coordinates with your caregivers to allow better collaboration at diagnosis
Acts as a go-to resource for information on wellness services, financial resources, support groups, transportation, psychological support and more
Provides emotional support to patients, beginning on Day One
Empowers the entire cancer care team to provide the best care possible
Meaghan Hennings Patient Navigator Originally from South Dakota, Meaghan Hennings has spent much of her life in Casper, Wyoming. She earned a bachelor of science degree in Psychology from the University of Oregon in 2005 and is currently completing a master’s program in social work through the University of Wyoming. Meaghan has been active in the social work field. As the Patient Navigator, Meaghan serves on the healthcare team as a proactive patient representative. One of her goals is to ensure timely patient access to appropriate cancer care. Meaghan works with patients to identify their barriers to receiving care and connects them to the resources they may need such as counseling, transportation and financial assistance. She works congruently with members of the cancer care team, as well as with community social services, support groups, and other complementary programs. In her free time, Meaghan enjoys fishing, hiking, cooking, spending time with family, and volunteering in the community.
