Emotional Support

It’s important to be surrounded by people who support you through your journey. The Rocky Mountain Oncology cancer support group offers a safe, confidential environment to connect with others who are facing similar challenges associated with cancer care. The group, which is facilitated by a licensed counselor, utilizes empathy, compassion and even humor to help discuss the issues.

People entering the complex world of cancer care face challenges that can leave them feeling overwhelmed, afraid and alone. Sometimes talking to even the most supportive family members and friends may be difficult. A support group can help provide the emotional strength and support to help you live with cancer.

The Wyoming Medical Center Foundation’s Angels program offers hope and assistance to cancer patients and their caregivers. A dedicated and compassionate group of cancer survivors, friends, family and community members volunteer as Angels to provide emotional support, transportation, and light housekeeping. They also provide wigs, bras, prosthesis and grocery and gift cards.

Imerman Angels is another resource for emotional support. Imerman Angels matches you with someone who has been treated for the same diagnosis as you. Your Imerman Angel offers hope and inspirational support from someone who has walked in your shoes. Imerman also offers Mentor Angels for caregivers (spouses, children, parents, and other family and friends).

LIVESTRONG® offers free cancer support and resources to help you manage and navigate your journey.
