Pediatric Cancer Care

Take the first step towards receiving care.

Specialized Cancer Care for Children, Closer to Home

When a child is diagnosed with cancer, the entire family is affected. At Rocky Mountain Oncology, we understand how important it is for children to receive specialized care while remaining close to home, family, and the support systems they know.

Through our partnership with Children’s Hospital Colorado, eligible pediatric patients can receive chemotherapy treatment in Casper, helping families reduce the time, travel, and added expense associated with making repeated trips to Denver for treatment.

Our dedicated team works closely with pediatric oncologists and nurses to coordinate each child’s care and ensure treatment is delivered according to their individualized plan.

Working Together for Your Child

Pediatric cancer care requires specialized knowledge and close coordination. Rocky Mountain Oncology works with your child’s pediatric oncology team at Children’s Hospital Colorado to help provide prescribed chemotherapy treatments locally when appropriate.

This collaborative approach allows your child’s specialists to remain closely involved in treatment while giving your family the convenience and comfort of receiving certain aspects of care closer to home.

Throughout treatment, our team is here to:

  • Coordinate with your child’s pediatric oncology team
  • Follow the individualized treatment plan established for your child
  • Administer prescribed chemotherapy and supportive medications
  • Monitor your child throughout treatment
  • Answer questions and help your family understand what to expect
  • Communicate important information with the specialists involved in your child’s care

Your child receives coordinated care backed by a team working together with one goal — helping them through treatment safely and compassionately.

A Space Designed With Children in Mind

Children experience healthcare differently than adults. That’s why we’ve created an environment designed to help our youngest patients feel more comfortable during treatment.

We welcome children of different ages, from toddlers to teenagers, and provide a dedicated pediatric space with features intended specifically for their needs.

Our pediatric treatment environment includes:

A Separate Treatment Room — A dedicated space gives children and their families greater comfort and privacy during treatment.

Kid-Friendly Seating — Special seating helps make treatment more comfortable for younger patients.

Toys & Activities — Age-appropriate distractions can help children feel more at ease during appointments and treatment.

Family-Centered Support — Parents and caregivers are an essential part of a child’s care, and our team works to keep families informed and involved throughout the process.

What Families Can Expect

Before receiving treatment at Rocky Mountain Oncology, your child’s pediatric oncology team will determine whether local treatment is appropriate and coordinate the necessary care with our team.

When you arrive, we’ll help you and your child understand what to expect during the visit. We know that new environments, medications, and procedures can be intimidating for children, so we take the time to answer questions and make the experience as comfortable as possible.

Throughout treatment, our team remains in communication with the specialists overseeing your child’s cancer care so that everyone involved remains connected and informed.
