Telemedicine

Take the first step towards receiving care.

Stay Connected to Your Care, Closer to Home

Cancer care can involve ongoing appointments, conversations, and follow-up visits. At Rocky Mountain Oncology, telemedicine can make it easier for eligible patients to stay connected with their oncology care team while reducing the time and distance required to travel for certain appointments.

Through secure video visits, you can meet face-to-face with members of your care team, discuss how you’re feeling, review test or laboratory results, and ask questions about your ongoing care.

Our goal is simple: provide convenient access to the same compassionate, personalized support you expect from Rocky Mountain Oncology — even when you aren’t sitting in the same room.

What Is Telemedicine?

Telemedicine uses secure video technology to connect you with your healthcare team remotely.

During an eligible telemedicine appointment, you and your oncology care team may be able to:

  • Discuss your progress and how you’re feeling
  • Review laboratory results
  • Review imaging and other test results
  • Discuss symptoms or treatment side effects
  • Ask questions about your ongoing care
  • Discuss next steps in your treatment or follow-up plan

Your care team will determine whether a telemedicine visit is appropriate based on the type of appointment and your individual healthcare needs.

The Convenience of Care Closer to Home

For patients who live outside Casper or farther from their oncology team, traveling for every appointment can require significant time and expense.

Telemedicine may allow eligible patients to complete certain visits closer to home while remaining connected with the specialists involved in their care.

Less Travel — Reduce the time and distance required for eligible appointments.

Continued Access to Your Care Team — Meet face-to-face with members of your oncology team through secure video technology.

Review Your Care Together — Discuss laboratory results, imaging, symptoms, and other aspects of your ongoing care.

Family Participation — When appropriate, a family member or caregiver may be able to participate in your visit with you.

How Telemedicine Works

1. Schedule Your Appointment

Contact Rocky Mountain Oncology to find out whether your appointment can be completed through telemedicine.

Our team will provide scheduling information and explain what you’ll need to do before your visit.

2. Prepare for Your Visit

Before your appointment, you’ll receive instructions about where and how your telemedicine visit will take place.

If your appointment is conducted from a participating healthcare facility, plan to arrive early enough to check in and get settled before your scheduled visit.

3. Connect With Your Care Team

You’ll connect with your Rocky Mountain Oncology care team through secure video technology.

Depending on the setting, a local healthcare team member may be available to assist during the appointment when needed.

4. Discuss Your Ongoing Care

Your telemedicine appointment provides an opportunity to discuss your health, review relevant results, ask questions, and talk about next steps in your care.

Just like an in-person appointment, we want you to leave your visit understanding what comes next.

Is Telemedicine Right for My Appointment?

Not every healthcare visit can or should be completed through telemedicine. Some appointments require an in-person examination, testing, treatment, or other services that cannot be provided remotely.

Your Rocky Mountain Oncology care team can help determine whether telemedicine is appropriate for your specific appointment.

If an in-person visit is necessary, we’ll let you know and help you understand what to expect.
